Local business owners to open new establishment

Sally Kelenic and Rob Geiger, owners of the Moose Head Pub and Settler's Bay, will be opening their newest establishment, Buckshots Bar and Grill, in early October.
Buckshots Bar and Grill will feature loaded burgers and appetizers, as well as a limited casual bar menu in a smoke-free environment. A wide variety of domestic and imported beers and wine and cocktails will also be available.
The establishment will be located at 114 N. Water St., the former home of Rally Time and Don's Bar.
“Rob and I were so lucky to find this great opportunity to expand our food and beverage business to this smaller, historic downtown building,” Kelenic said. “Although minor cosmetic restoration has already begun, we hope to continue to restore and showcase some of the building's historical character in the coming months and years.
“While we realize that running three businesses simultaneously will be a challenge, we felt it was one worth taking,” she added. “Since re-opening Settler's Bay and the Moose Head Pub, we've come to realize that a smaller venue lends itself to better customer service and a better understanding of the community.”
Kelenic said the decision to separate Settler's Bay and the Moose Head Pub into two separate entities and experiencing the success of a smaller restaurant operation was a key factor in opening Buckshots.
“Getting to know our customers was something we had little time for at Settler's Bay,” Kelenic said. “There was too much ground to cover in a night, too many fires to put out and it was too fast paced. We also realized that being on the edge of town limited our exposure to what was going on in our community. With the opening of Buckshots, we are looking forward to participating in and supporting the downtown redevelopment."
Buckshots Bar and Grill will be open Monday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to close. The building will also be available to rent for small parties of up to 40 guests, seven days a week.
